Intimate Wedding at Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas | Alec and Abby

It goes without saying that intimate weddings at Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas are some of my favorite to capture. The growing popularity of intimate wedding days makes my heart so happy! I absolutely love when couples spend their time focusing more on each other and less on the stresses of a big wedding day. Intimate weddings are super on trend right now and totally get my stamp of approval.

Alec and Abby’s day was no exception to the beauty of an intimate wedding! Abby got ready off-site, a common practice when getting married at Garvan Gardens. Her details were absolutely incredible! From her beautifully soft glam hair and makeup to the classic white, black, green and gold color palette, Abby knew exactly what she wanted out of her day and then some!

Alec and Abby chose to have an evening ceremony at Garvan, which is quite unique in my experience. Due to the time of day of the actual ceremony, we got to have the evening to ourselves, which meant that others enjoying the Gardens were practically non-existent. This was such a huge benefit to having their ceremony later in the day! We were also able to get that evening moody lighting, as well as some creative shots in Anthony Chapel at night (the first of many that I have now experienced).

My favorite part of the evening was the fiber optic wands that the couple’s guests held up as they exited the chapel! It made for super cool photos and added so much genuine emotion to the overall gallery.

Due to the time of the ceremony being a little later in the day, the couple and I decided to get all of the photos finished beforehand so that we could use all of the natural light possible.

Pro tip: When considering a wedding at Garvan Gardens, keep in mind the time of day and the time of sunset! This will play a huge role in your overall timeline for the day.

Overall, I was absolutely smitten with Alec, Abby, and their host of family and friends. Their wedding at Garvan Gardens was intimate, elegant, quaint, and absolutely joyous to photograph. We ended up with the most perfect weather, the most beautiful lighting, and the coolest photos with the grand architecture of Anthony Chapel.
