Colorful Spring Wedding at 409 South Main in Memphis | Katie and Hunter

It’s no secret that spring weddings are mega popular these days, and for the right reasons! Katie and Hunter knew that having a colorful spring wedding at 409 South Main in Memphis, Tennessee was the perfect choice for them! From the varying colors and styles in the bridesmaids dresses, all the way to the temporary tats and fake mustaches handed out during the reception, Katie and Hunter’s Memphis wedding at 409 South Main was one for the books!

From the beginning, the details of Katie and Hunter’s wedding were instantly eye-catching! Pops of blue and yellow provided the perfect added touch to the classic color palette that Katie and Hunter chose. We started the day with getting ready photos and first looks of all sorts! From the bridesmaids, to Katie’s dad, and finally, to Hunter himself, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house during these moments.

And the bridesmaid’s dresses were out of this world beautiful! From a photographer’s perspective, the differing colors and styles of the dresses really elevated the overall look of the wedding party! One of my biggest tips with any wedding venue, especially one as cool as this one, is to plan time to utilize the gorgeous street views and eclectic atmosphere around the venue. For these wedding party photos, we took to the street to get some of the most epic (and possibly my favorite) wedding party shots!

Getting the wedding party moving is one of my favorite ways to capture genuine emotion! The happiness and joy is definitely evident on all of their faces.

One of my favorite things about 409 South Main is the super cool industrial look that encompasses the venue. The huge windows in the ceremony space provides the most amazing lighting, and the exposed brick, vents, and string of lights all add to the romantic (and industrially chic) vibe.

After it’s all said and done, we have my favorite part of the entire day - couple’s photos! One of my favorite things about 409 South Main is how it features a stunning space both inside and outside. For the inside portion of the photos, I was able to utilize the window lighting to my advantage. The natural light was to die for, and Katie absolutely rocked her individual bridal portraits!

Then, it was time to head outside to soak up that creamy golden hour glow for portraits of Katie and Hunter as husband and wife. We used the street to our advantage and even stopped to pose in front of the coolest green garage door!

Pro tip: Follow your photographer’s lead! Golden hour is our jam, so allowing us space in the timeline to get creative is so important!

And finally, the most electric part of the entire day - the PARTY!!

Katie and Hunter had the raddest reception! They got temporary tattoos and handed out fake mustaches to their guests. It doesn’t get much cooler than that folks! They danced the night away and the best part is that I got photos of every second of it!

Pro tip: Fun party gifts, like confetti canons or glow sticks can also double as an exit prop!

It goes without saying that Katie and Hunter’s colorful spring wedding at 409 South Main in Memphis was one for the history books! From the super fun color palette, to the stunning golden hour couple’s photos, allll the way down to the most hype reception, this wedding will forever remained etched in my heart. Doing what I love with some of the coolest clients turned friends will always be my favorite part of this job!
